This is an excellent opportunity to join them during a period of change and make a real difference in the lives of the students that study across their campuses.

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of the capital projects programme and large revenue projects, from establishing the initial brief, through the construction phase to practical completion, and final account stage. As part of your role you will be expected to Deputise for the Group Director of Capital Projects where required.

Description

  • Manage and deliver capital and revenue projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Oversee the capital project budgets, ensuring alignment with the Head of Capital Projects and financial regulations.
  • Lead and motivate a team of capital professionals to meet project deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain robust systems and processes for project management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on all project progress.
  • Prioritise and plan the annual work schedule for the team and areas of responsibility.
  • Identify cost improvements and service efficiencies to enhance operations.
  • Mitigate and manage project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolutions.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree-level education and membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS).
  • Extensive experience in construction technology, project management, and design across a range of projects.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects in occupied buildings.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of managing capital projects and teams.
  • A deep understanding of Building Bulletins, DfE 24 standards, and how they impact project proposals.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
