Elevation Recruitment Group is excited to be working with a leading client who is looking for an Interim Head of FP&A to join their dynamic team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance leader to make a real impact, driving business performance and influencing financial strategy across the business.

In this role, you’ll lead the FP&A team to ensure business performance is understood, optimised, and clearly communicated to all stakeholders. You’ll support senior leaders, including the Managing Director, Group Finance Director, and the Board, in evaluating and executing the business’s strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include providing financial leadership and support, driving effective business partnering at all levels.

As Head of FP&A, you’ll work closely with the Board and Group Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to evolve and assess the financial implications of the business’s strategy and change agenda. You’ll lead a team of six colleagues, ensuring that financial planning is robust, targets are met, and corporate goals are aligned with strategic objectives. Your leadership will drive the 5-year and 1-year planning processes, including defining the planning cycle, presenting to the Board, and submitting plans.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for leading forecasting and reporting across the finance team, ensuring monthly forecasts are accurate. You’ll communicate group performance to all stakeholders, ensuring that financial results are well understood and aligned with business goals. You will also provide financial support to the Commercial and Beverages teams, helping drive decisions and ensuring product costings and pricing are effectively managed.

A key part of the role will involve working with IT and the FP&A team to optimise the use of the Anaplan planning system within the business. You’ll oversee scoping and testing of new use cases, as well as collaborate with IT to develop data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) infrastructure. This will help ensure the business has access to accurate, timely, and relevant management information (MI) to drive decision-making.

You’ll also take on responsibility for managing the central overheads across the business, including the planning and reporting of all SG&A costs. You’ll support business owners in bringing costs back in line and improving financial performance. As a key member of the Finance Leadership Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future direction of the business.

What we’re looking for:To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) with at least three years of post-qualification experience in finance. You will have strong FP&A experience and proven business partnering ability, particularly with senior stakeholders. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with a strong track record of meeting tight deadlines.

Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills are essential, as well as strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. You’ll be required to build collaborative working relationships across different levels of the organisation, including business partnering with board-level customers. The ability to identify and manage interdependencies across the group will be key to influencing financial results in a positive way.

You should also have experience leading teams and motivating individuals to drive business performance. A high level of attention to detail and strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint will be crucial for success in this role. Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, or retail environments is desirable but not essential.
