We’re Hiring: Purchase Ledger Team Leader | Horsforth, Leeds

Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for leading and developing a high-performing team? We’re looking for a Purchase Ledger Team Leader to join our growing business in Horsforth.

In this hands-on role, you’ll take ownership of the purchase ledger function while leading and mentoring a team of up to 4 people. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations – all while driving continuous improvement and supporting the wider finance function.

Location: Horsforth, Leeds (with flexible/hybrid working available)

Type: Full-time, permanent

Team: Managing a team of up to 4

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the purchase ledger team with day-to-day operations
  • Oversee invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations, and payment runs
  • Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Act as the key point of contact for supplier queries and internal stakeholders
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to achieve individual and team goals
  • Support month-end close and reporting activities as required

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
  • Strong people management or team leader experience
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong systems knowledge (ERP systems, Excel)
