Having traded for over 30 years, this broker boasts a large and longstanding portfolio of clients varying from some sub £5,000 SME cases, through to several corporate cases with complex global exposures with premium spends in excess of £500,000. However, it’s fair to say that it’s 'bread and butter’ is cases paying between £50,000 and £100,000 GWP.

Depending on how you see your future playing out, the role can be tweaked to suit your skills, experience and motivations. For example, you will be allocated clients that suit your technical ambitions (say the more complex clients, or you may particularly enjoy dealing with 'wheels’ oriented or white-collar risks, for example). Alternatively, you may hope to become an Account Executive so will start accompanying a Director on client visits and inherit a small portfolio of accounts to run as a 'Desk-Top Account Exec’ in the first instance.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of commercial insurance, although this can have been gained in either a broking, underwriting or claims capacity. You must be an excellent team player who enjoys working to shared goals and objectives. You should also have strong communication skills and be able to build relationships with people from all walks of life. Ideally you will have knowledge of the Acturis broking platform, but this is by no means essential.

This firm is based in North Leeds with ample parking and close to major public transport routes. You will also be welcome to work from home several days per week.

In return, you will receive a generous basic salary that is anticipated to be in the region of £35,000 - £45,000, but completely negotiable for outstanding candidates. As you would expect from a broker with a reputation for providing rapid career progression, this will soon be increased as you assume increased responsibility.
