PURPOSE OF ROLE

We're collaborating with a respected insurance company to fill an essential role, seeking a professional who can make an impact.As an experienced and professional Corporate Broker you will provide exceptional service to clients, prospects, and account executives across all aspects of commercial and corporate insurance. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, excellent trading abilities, and a commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Liaise with clients on broking, processing, and daily insurance administration.
  • Support business strategy for income growth and retention.
  • Provide insurance advice and negotiate with underwriters.
  • Advise clients on risk management and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain networks and stay updated on market trends.
  • Ensure adherence to business and renewal timelines.
  • Collaborate with senior brokers and account executives on new business and renewals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key market partners.
  • Support less experienced staff and coordinate with the claims department.
  • Conduct regular reviews to improve systems and processes.
  • Stay informed on external changes and assess their impact on the role.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Professional qualification (DIP or working towards professional qualifications).
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.
  • Effective relationship management (Internal & External).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Strong trading and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance distribution, claims handling, and complaints management.
  • Understanding of relevant laws governing insurance distribution and business ethics standards.
  • Necessary financial competence.

DAY-TO-DAY 

  • Interacting with clients and underwriters.
  • Collaborating with team members on business strategy and development plans.
  • Maintaining relationships with market partners.
  • Providing support and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Conducting reviews on systems and processes. 

EXPERIENCE 

  • Previous experience in a similar corporate broking role.
  • Proven success in providing professional insurance advice and negotiating with underwriters.
  • Strong track record of maintaining client relationships and upholding regulatory accountabilities.
  • Experience in assessing customer needs and staying informed about the insurance market.
  • Knowledge of Acturis a plus
