The ideal individual for this role will be experienced in operational management within the financial services sector & will demonstrate a track record of success when optimising business frameworks to improve productivity, results & growth.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK as you will work & travel to meet clients from home.

Our Client

Our client is a 'business lifecycle agency' offering services to business owners within the planning & wealth sectors that cover every stage of their business cycle, from inception to sale. They are highly sought after in the market as the board & team are made up of ex-IFA business owners who have achieved the key challenges they set out to resolve for their clients. This real world credibility has been integral to their success.

For the majority of clients, their business sale & exit is the ultimate goal, though often, there is work to do to prepare for this, which is where you come in. You will work within the team that engages with clients who are looking to improve business performance and productivity to drive growth & sale viability/value.

Our client has exciting growth objectives for 2025 & beyond & this hire will be critical to that.

The Role

Within the role you will engage with clients to undertake an initial 'business effective review.’ This is a diagnostic service that will help you to uncover business opportunities that can be capitalised upon, as well as business risks that can be mitigated. During this process you will learn about the businesses short, medium & long term objectives & goals.

You will then utilise findings from your review to create & present a bespoke strategy to help your client achieve their goals. From here, you will manage & run this project directly with the client, to completion. The nature of the role means you will truly become an extension of your clients' businesses at the heart of what is most important and most valuable to them.

This will include plenty of time at client sites where you will work with a spirit of continuous improvement and will actively seek opportunities to progress your client relationship in all aspects. The abiliy to travel is key!

This is also a role that comes with plenty of progression potential due to our client's growth, forward planning (succession) and strong & proven promote from within policy. Happy to discuss.

Duties include (but may not be limited to):

  • Client Engagement: Engage & undertake initial diagnostics review, focussing on people, proposition, processes & technology in line with business objectives
  • Strategic Planning: Devise & deliver your strategic plan to meet those key business objectives
  • Agree: The project plan and commercials. Pass to the PMO team to organise
  • Delivery: Deliver your strategy as a project within the time scales agreed
  • Relationship Management: Hone & grow relationships with key clients, they are going to be clients for life!
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all services are delivered to the highest standard, upholding & enhancing company reputation and results
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Embody company values within the financial planning community, showcasing commitment to excellence and innovation
  • Innovation & Collaboration: Contribute to the company’s growth by developing innovative solutions & new client propositions and opportunities

The Ideal Individual

Due to the nature of the role & expectations of our client's clients, the ideal individual for this role must be experienced in operational management/leadership in the sector with the capacity to create & deliver strategic plans that support business growth and exit objectives.

The below is also key to retain the level of credibility required:

  • Diploma (DipPFS) qualified (QCF4) or Chartered/Fellow preferred (QCF6)
  • Experience of working in operations within a financial planning business/acquirer
  • Experience of the preparation of businesses for sale is not critical, but a nice to have
  • Experience in integrating businesses post sale is not critical, but a nice to have
  • Expert in all things people, process, proposition & technology within the sector
  • Enthusiastic and works with energy - Infectious & excellent relationship skills
  • Creative thinker, able to identify solutions and opportunities, and to deliver them

On Offer

This is a full time employed role with the company.

Our client is ideally looking to pay between £50k-£65k as a basic salary for the ideal individual, with the salary range covering different levels of experience. Offers will be relevant to experience, as you would expect. Higher offers may be considered for exceptional experience.

Salary will be complemented by access to our clients favourable bonus/benefits scheme too.

Most notably, our client is on a growth curve and they operate a promote from within policy. Very pertinent for this role as the current Head of Department is earmarked to step up to 'MD,’ meaning that opportunity to move to department head can be realised, where excellent performance is delivered.
