Position: Ocean Import Coordinator
Location: Leeds
Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30 (Some flexibility may be required)
Salary: Up to 35,000 - 40,000 (DOE)

We are recruiting for one of the largest privately owned international freight forwarding companies that operate from 9 locations in the UK.

We seek an Ocean Import Coordinator to join our clients' dynamic team, arranging international shipments by sea (LCL and FCL).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the importation of Less than Container Loads (LCL) and Full Container Loads (FCL) shipments via sea freight. You must have a background in sea freight forwarding operations.

Your key responsibilities as Ocean Import Coordinator:

  • Complete start-to-finish import consignments via sea freight
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of allocated LCL & FCL movements
  • Global imports
  • Create bookings from the origin
  • Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
  • Track and update shipment statutes in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
  • Complete import customs entries via CDS
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations
  • Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
  • Growing our prospect database
  • Experience in other modes desirable
  • Previous experience in quoting and operations of import ocean freight forwarding is essential
