The Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen at The Bradford Golf Club for a committed and enthusiastic Assistant Greenkeeper to join our well-established, quality and friendly greens team.
Our Herbert Fowler designed Par 71 Championship Course is one of the oldest in Yorkshire.
The course is a moorland links which plays host to The Hawksworth Trophy, a prestigious 36-hole competition for the leading amateur golfers in Northern England and the course also continues to be used for many prestigious Yorkshire Championship events.
Reporting to the Course Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain the course to the highest standards in line with the Club’s Golf Course Policy. You should look to continually raise the bar to exceed the expectations of our members and visitors alike. The Club’s machinery replacement and investment programme enables all of our greens staff to use the latest technology in undertaking their roles.
The Club is also working with an exciting development plan which will result in some significant changes to the course. This will offer the opportunity for you to showcase your current skills and attributes whilst developing new ones.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary £28,000 per annum
- Full-Time position 40 hours per week
- Weekend work on a rota basis paid as additional overtime

Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent sports turf qualification
- Minimum of 2 years’ golf course greenkeeping experience
- Competence with the operation and maintenance of modern golf course machinery
- PA1, PA2, & PA6 spraying certification (desirable but not essential)
- Good communication and time-keeping skills with a flexible approach to work and working hours
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
