Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Leeds

This Leeds based(hybrid working) role could be the ideal role for you!

I am looking for an individual, passionate about helping others, with experience in handling a medical negligence caseload. Strong organisational, time management and drafting skills are essential, along with the ability to work well with junior team members, offering coaching and mentoring.

This Clinical Negligence Solicitor role involves managing your own caseload, handling Clinical Negligence cases from inception to trial, all under supervision and in line with current legal standards and company policies. You will also take on delegated tasks related to similar cases and help settle cases, all while mentoring and coaching more junior team members.

If successful, you’ll join a large, busy team of clinical negligence experts, gaining exposure to all aspects of litigation, including pre- and post-litigation work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Team Leader to discuss and agree on case strategies and planning
  • Collect relevant information from clients to ensure the smooth progression of cases
  • Obtain necessary medical evidence for each claim
  • Draft legal documents, including Letters of Claim and Letters of Instruction
  • Follow up on medical records and research medical conditions
  • Coordinate case progression with internal and external parties
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Issue and serve proceedings as needed
  • Support the team in delivering excellent client care
  • Proactively manage and progress cases
  • Contribute to the team’s financial performance by meeting KPIs
  • Maintain accurate time records

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in handling a medical negligence caseload
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office and case management software
  • Excellent drafting and legal documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Outstanding client care and communication skills
