Join our clients welcoming and supportive team at a well-established nursery in Rothwell, Leeds, where you will be working in the Baby Room with children from 0-2 years old. This is a rewarding role where you'll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest learners while developing your career in the Early Years sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key Person Role: Take responsibility for your own group of key children, supporting their individual learning and development needs.
- Plan and Implement Activities: Create and deliver age-appropriate activities that support the developmental milestones of babies, fostering skills such as communication, physical development, and social-emotional growth.
- Provide Care and Nurturing: Offer high-quality care for babies, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing at all times. Build strong bonds with the children and create a safe and stimulating environment for them to explore and grow.
- Support Early Learning: Follow the EYFS framework (Early Years Foundation Stage), ensuring that babies are supported in their development of key skills such as sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and early language.
- Monitor and Record Progress: Observe and assess children's progress, recording milestones and achievements to inform planning and communication with parents and carers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency in care and the overall smooth running of the nursery, contributing to a positive, team-focused environment.
- Safeguarding: Ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed, and that every child's safety and welfare are always a priority.
What You'll Need:
- A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or equivalent).
- A genuine passion for working with babies and young children, with an understanding of child development and the EYFS.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with babies, parents, and colleagues.
- A nurturing and patient approach, able to provide the care and attention each child needs.
- DBS check (or willingness to apply for one) and commitment to safeguarding practices.
