As the Intake Manager you will be responsible for managing the inbound purchase orders into the companies distribution centre. Covering all business departments including retail, wholesale, overseas & off price. Within this role you will ensure all stages of the critical path are adhered too, by working cross functional departments and suppliers to ensure all stock is delivered on time.

Description

  • You the Intake Manager will take ownership of the production critical path, making sure all key dates and deadlines are adhered too and communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Production roll up forecast for all departments, submitted to the supply base in correct format and booked in line with the critical path.
  • Represent the teams as the main point of contact for the supply base.
  • Management of weekly cash flow submission, capturing any variance to the previous week.
  • Management & responsibility for the buying minute document, collating all orders from retail and wholesale teams ensuring that accurate product information is communicated to the supply base and cloth manager in line with critical path.
  • Providing forward view of intake into the business to the wider teams based on live purchase orders in the system.
  • Provide the teams with the weekly delivery schedule (WDS), communicating any movements with production and delivery dates and providing the reasoning for any changes.
  • Managing the merchandising delivery authorisation (MDA) process between each team and the supply base. Communicating to the teams which purchase orders are ready to be delivered and communicating back to the supply base which orders have been approved to ship.
  • To work with the cloth manager and provide forecasts of cloth needed to book to fulfil purchase order quantities.
  • Working closely with the supply base ensuring WDS and MDA requests are received weekly on time and distributed to the wider teams.
  • Management of Purchasing & Intake Assistant - Responsible for the management of that individual, their workload, development and morale. Undergo job chats to monitor and manage their progress. Set clear objectives and coach them daily to grow their knowledge and skills to be able achieve their objectives.
  • Conduct weekly meetings both internal and external.

  • Management skills - Ability to manage and mentor assistants and adapt your management technique to suit your team.
  • Understanding of the clothing industry & trading environments. Broad knowledge of either retail or wholesale environments.
  • Strategic thinker - able to look forward and innovate.
  • Self-motivated.
