We are looking for a Credit Hire File Handler who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and has a strong understanding of credit hire. In this role, you will be responsible for the tactical and strategic handling of complex credit hire claims, carrying out in-depth investigations on files submitted by specific opponents. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your experience in the credit hire field and contribute to reducing overall insurer spend.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently manage a caseload of pre-litigated credit hire claims (up to £25,000 in value)
- Follow pre-agreed strategies and maintain compliance with internal workflows
- Engage in telephone negotiations with third parties and solicitors
- Review and analyse evidence, assessing the liability and quantum of claims
- Liaise with clients and colleagues in a professional and efficient manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date file records using a Case Management System
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
- 35 hours per week
- Hybrid model - 1 day in-office, 4 days from home
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience handling Credit Hire files and managing your own caseload
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - a degree or LPC is desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and ideally, experience using a Case Management System
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
- Demonstrated use of initiative and tact in sensitive situations
- At least 12 months' experience in a credit hire environment is essential
- Pre-proceedings credit hire knowledge
- Full file lifecycle management
- Common law and litigation principles
- Understanding of legal costs and protective offers
- Preparing a file for litigation
- Develop a range of legal and negotiation skills under supervision
- Future progression into litigated fast-track, fraud, or multi-track teams
