Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Mobility Support: Help clients with mobility, including moving and transferring them safely.
  • Medication Assistance: Support clients with medication administration in accordance with their care plan and the organization's policies.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
  • Household Tasks: Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in activities and conversation.
  • Care Planning: Follow and contribute to the development of individual care plans, ensuring the needs and preferences of clients are met.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication records.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Health Monitoring: Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a care or support role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
