Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help clients with mobility, including moving and transferring them safely.
- Medication Assistance: Support clients with medication administration in accordance with their care plan and the organization's policies.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
- Household Tasks: Assist with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe and tidy environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging them in activities and conversation.
- Care Planning: Follow and contribute to the development of individual care plans, ensuring the needs and preferences of clients are met.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication records.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor clients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in a care or support role is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Compassionate and patient demeanour.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
