We are looking for a Plumbing and Heating Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.
As the Plumbing and Heating Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.
The Plumbing and Heating Engineer, will be responsible for:
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair Plumbing and Heating systems.
- Respond breakdowns reported by staff, clients, or contractors, and troubleshoot the issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain new Plumbing and Heating equipment and appliances.
- Assist in the setup of other systems, conduct regular checks and tests of safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors, emergency lighting, etc.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulation.
- Keep accurate up to date records of maintenance activities, inventory, and spare parts, and report any issues or recommendations to the supervisor or manager.
- Follow a maintenance schedule and prioritise tasks according to urgency and importance.
- Use and maintain tools and equipment required for the role, and ensure they are in good working order and stored securely.
- Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff, contractors, and external specialists, and provide guidance and support when needed.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the field of maintenance, and attend training courses as required ·
- Update job records electronically to enable live reporting
To be successful for this Plumbing And Heating Engineer role you must have:
- Apprenticeship or equivalent, IOSH or equivalent, C&G/BTEC Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering Parts 1, 2, and 3.
- NVQ with multi-skilled engineering Level 3, C&G 2079 F Gas or equivalent, HVAC or gas equivalent, or C&G 2391/2 18th edition IEE regulations.
- Candidates must have previous relevant experience in providing electrical maintenance services in a large, complex environment.
- Basic to intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with some experience in updating records, are essential.
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing, including note-taking, is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation are crucial.
- Substantial practical experience with a comprehensive knowledge of all building services disciplines, including heating, hot water, ventilating, refrigeration, environmental, electrical power and distribution, and public health, is necessary.
