We are seeking a dedicated GCSE English Lecturer to join an excellent Further Education College in Leeds. This role offers opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Further Education learners aged 16-18 by delivering high-quality English lessons and supporting their educational progress.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, and assessment plans.
  • Continuously update and maintain tracking systems to recognize the need for interventions and implement them.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods.
  • Work within the college's ethos and culture, utilizing relevant tools and concepts such as effort descriptors and Academy Progress Levels (APLs).
  • Set targets with individual learners to assist in their academic or development progress, including at Personal Progress Days and writing parent/carer reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Teaching Qualification (Level 5 or above)
  • Experience teaching English at GCSE Level
  • Experience supporting learners aged 16-18
  • Experience with exam preparation
  • Clear and Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Beneficial)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
