Learning Assistant SEND - East Leeds
Start: January 2024
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term until July 2025 (with the outlook for a permanent position)
Salary: 20,594 - 21,251 per annum
Hours: 8:00am - 4:20pm with one day finishing 3:50pm
We are seeking a Learning Assistant SEND to support children in Year 1 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment with the potential for a permanent role following the fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for children with SEND in Year 1.
- Support children in developing key skills and following individual learning plans.
- Assist with PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), visual timetables, and other learning aids to support communication and learning.
- Work closely with teaching staff to follow directions and contribute to effective learning outcomes for children with SEND.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEND, especially in a primary school setting.
- Familiar with PECS and visual timetables, and able to use these tools effectively to support communication and learning.
- Demonstrates a strong track record of following learning plans and supporting teachers.
- Passionate about supporting children to achieve their best and helping them thrive in a learning environment.
