Teaching Assistant

Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Leeds. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will be working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing essential support to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
• Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Implement and monitor individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
• Support students with personal care needs, if required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Relevant qualifications or training in special education or teaching assistance.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
