About the Role:
Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school for children with autism. This is a long-term position, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with autism.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Support the class teacher in creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Help students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Use specialized strategies and tools to support students' learning and communication needs.
- Monitor and record students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
