- Setting up and monitoring team KPIs
- Building a strong reputation for the payroll team within the business
- Managing relationships with internal teams
- Managing HRMC queries
- Managing complex payroll requirements
- Managing year end and other statutory returns
- Ensuring all upgrades to payroll system are conducted in a timely manner
- Ensuring all new pay elements are implemented and tested
- Conduct integrity checks on the system
- Participating in projects to develop processes identifying improvements
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the role
- Payroll Manager experience
- Experience with Sage payroll
- Experience managing a team
- Ability to identify problems and offer solutions
- Strong numerical and advanced analytical and Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
- Experience working in a high-volume payroll environment
- Detailed knowledge of UK legislation
- Experience with ROI legislation is desirable
