HR AdvisorLeeds / Hybrid£37-£38kWe are currently supporting an ambitious law firm dedicated to delivering a range of commercial services to clients from the individual entrepreneur and small family business to some of the UK's most successful companies and well-known brands.A new and exciting role has arisen within the team for an HR Advisor to support the HR Manager in running the operational side of the team, ensuring the effective management of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a good understanding of employment law, and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.What will be involvedRecruitment and Onboarding
  • Coordinate and participate in the recruitment process, including adverts, liaison with agencies and negotiation of fees, candidate screening, interviews, and selection.
  • Assist with the development of our onboarding process and induction of new employees into the firm.
  • Assist the HR Manager in the management of the Trainee Solicitor and Apprentice recruitment and training programmes, including attendance at careers fairs.
Employee Relations
  • Provide timely, effective and comprehensive support to Partners, managers and staff in all aspects of HR.
  • Take an active role in staff engagement, wellbeing and promotion of the Rewards platform.
  • Assist in resolving workplace conflicts and addressing grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through engagement initiatives and activities. Absence Management
  • Assist with absence management, undertaking return to work meetings as required.
Performance Management
  • Assist in the management of the firm’s annual appraisal system, identifying any training and development needs.
  • In conjunction with departmental training coordinators, ensure CPD requirements are met.
Policy and Compliance
  • Develop and update the firm’s HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, pay and wages legislation, and internal policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and communicate updates as required
Pay and Benefits
  • Collation of monthly payroll changes for processing
  • Administer staff benefits and assist HR Manager with salary review process.
HR Projects and Initiatives
  • Participate in HR and People projects, taking the lead where appropriate.
  • Work with the HR Manager to implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the firm’s business goals.
 Assist the HR Manager with management and supervision of secretarial group. About you
  • Experience 3+ yrs experience as an HR Advisor or similar level role
  • Up to date employment law knowledge
  • Able to plan and prioritise workload, working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills Personable with relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business
  • CIPD qualification level 5
