IT Project Manager role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to lead projects tailored to the unique requirements of our UK Police clients. This role is ideal for a highly organized individual with a strong background in managing complex, high-stakes projects within the Public Sector.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Full management of the project lifecycle for both small and large-scale internal and customer projects, ensuring they are scoped, planned, managed, and delivered effectively within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Work closely with the engineering team to allocate resources efficiently and ensure projects meet agreed timescales.
- Collaborate with the sales team and customers to define, scope, and structure potential projects.
- Regularly report progress both internally and to customers, ensuring projects exceed customer expectations.
- Manage project milestones and handle completion billing.
Facilitate effective communication between customers and team members.
- Lead customer meetings, take minutes, and track the progress of meeting actions.
- Manage resources allocated to projects, collaborating with other team leaders as necessary.
- Drive project actions forward within the team and ensure accountability.
- Produce detailed reports for the project team, the business, the board of directors, and customers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working within or alongside UK Police.
Proven track record of managing complex IT transformation projects for customers.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into project deliverables, identify customer outcomes, and pinpoint areas of risk.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and navigating conflicting demands.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service, ideally with experience in a customer-facing managed service role.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Relevant professional qualification in project management (e.g., Prince 2, Agile, PMI) or equivalent experience.
- Desirable: IOSHH Managing Safely, CCNSG, Membership to a professional body.
