Network Specialist Leeds

As our new Network Specialist, you will be a part of an international setup securing end-to-end network deliveries. You will join Arla IT Operations who are responsible for running and maintaining a global diverse IT landscape supporting our business.

How you will make an impact

You will maintain normal operations and be responsible for tasks within network administration. Further, you will take part in supporting the implementation of new network on our dairy sites around the world when possible. This will be in collaboration with our IT Solutions department running the infrastructure projects.

We have an aspiring growth strategy to create the future of dairy in Arla Foods and the key driver for this is strengthening our network infrastructure and bring it up to speed with industry standards. We are continuously refreshing our network and currently in the process of rolling out Cisco SDA on our sites to support our goals.

Specifically, your responsibility will be to maintain a LAN consisting of approximately 5000 switches and APs spread across 120 sites in 41 countries.

Specifically, you will:

Resolve incidents that arise in the infrastructure

Support and develop our monitoring capabilities to utilize ML/AI

Ensure quality in our operational documentation

Participate in PI-planning and System Demo together with the team members in our agile teams

Ensure continuous improvement in our ways of working

Some travel to Arla sites will be essential. Work outside normal office hours duties will be rotated in the team.

What will make you successful

You have technical in-depth knowledge of network technologies. You will act as a link between Global IT and Arla dairy sites, thus it is essential to have great communication skills and a motivation for establishing strong relations with key stakeholders and IT specialists in a matrix environment.

Further, you thrive in analysing complex problems and summarise them in a simple and understandable way that supports incident resolution. We highly value your expertise and input and therefore we encourage everyone to speak up and propose new suggestions on how we can do things even better.

At the same time, you must be a good listener and able to see matters from your colleague's point of view. The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor or Masters degree within IT

Cisco qualifications: CCNA and wireless networking understanding

Knowledge of networking protocols

Strong knowledge of Cisco Switches, routers and wireless solutions

Knowledge of Next Generation Firewalls, preferably Palo Alto

Experience with working in an Operational setup preferably experience with ITIL

Experience in working with problem solving in network infrastructure

Comfortable with learning new technologies
