??????We have an amazing opportunity for an Operational Support Analyst to work for a transportation company with great benefits. Your role will be to unlock our client's potential by harnessing their various systems, software, and datasets, as well as providing critical links between Operational, Engineering, and Commercial data and KPIs to drive collaboration and cross-functional decision making which puts the customer first. You will also spearhead the creation, evolution, and oversight of advanced Power BI dashboards, while also making substantial contributions to system and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Analysing large data sets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards for business reporting.
  • Working closely with the operations and engineering teams to drive business decisions.
  • Implementing data governance and ensuring data integrity, including ad-hoc internal audits and support with divisional or external data requirements during audits.
  • Assisting in the development of new business strategies based on data insights.
  • Collaborating with the IT department to ensure data systems meet compliance and business needs.
  • Continuously improving analytics processes and methodologies.
  • Fulfilling the data and reporting requirements as set out by the divisional department heads e.g. Fares and Ticketing data.
  • Support local project work and strategic initiatives as deemed appropriate.
  • Support in testing of new divisionally led systems.
  • Take responsibility for administrative duties relating to software and systems-related contracts.
  • Produce daily and weekly reports for the management team which provide insights into operational trends and opportunities for improvement.

You will need to have:

  • A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field, or proven experience as a Data Analyst.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Data Connections, Power Query, Power Pivot).
  • Ability to develop Power BI Dashboards
  • Proficiency in SQL and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data simply and understandably.
  • Detail-oriented with an aptitude for accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and data modelling techniques is a plus.
