Futures recruitment are looking to appoint a Machine Shop Team Leader for a well known and prestigious manufacturing business based in Leeds. The successful Machine shop team leader will have experience operating 3-5 axis CNC machines in a fast paced, highly regulated industry.

The role will be very hands on with managerial duties and paperwork associated with the position. Our client offer a very competitive package and the chance to grow in a very robust industry.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a deep understanding of working within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists, programmers, and setup operators in a high-precision, multi-axis machining environment.

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and ensure product conformity.

• Review and validate CNC programs, tooling, and setup sheets for 3- and 5-axis machines.

• Perform first-article inspections and support in-process inspections to maintain product integrity.

• Monitor and improve team performance through training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

• Ensure all shop floor documentation, logs, and maintenance records are accurately maintained.

• Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC machining, including 3- to 5-axis machines.

• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge CNC programming, and machining best practices.

• Familiarity with ERP systems

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment
