Key Responsibilities of the Contract Mechanical Fitter will include:

  • Building and assembling a range of industrial rotating equipment
  • Dynamic balancing of components, including impellors, shafts and rotors
  • Reading, interpreting and working directly from a range of technical drawings, BOMs and schematics, ensuring that products are built in line with tolerances and specifications


For the Contract Mechanical Fitter position, we are keen to receive applications from individuals who possess the following:

  • IDEAL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL: Possess formal qualifications within a relevant discipline (Apprenticeship, NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds Level 3, HNC, HND etc.)
  • The ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and effectively use a variety of hand & power tools


Working Hours of the Contract Mechanical Fitter:
37 Hours per week working a regular day shift

  • Monday to Thursday - 07:00 to 15:30
  • Friday - 07:00 to 12:00


In return, the Contract Mechanical Fitter will receive:

  • Pay Rates: PAYE: £20.00 / UMBRELLA PAYE: £26.46
  • Incentive Payment: £1,000.00 for every successful 3 month period worked
  • Overtime: Frequently available paid at time & a half and double time (Sundays only)
  • Holiday Allowance: 33 Days (PAYE)
  • Assignment Duration: 3 Month rolling assignment (often extended and sometimes offered permanent, but not guaranteed)
