Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our clients well established team in Leeds. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical equipment essential to our recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment, including conveyors, shredders, and compactors.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Install and assemble new equipment and ensure safe commissioning.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance machinery performance.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally in an industrial or recycling environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds).
