Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Leeds
Salary: £38,000 per annum

We are a leading name in the recycling and reprocessing industry, committed to sustainability and innovation. As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for aMechanical Fitterto join our team in Leeds.

Your Role:

  • Maintain plant and equipment, offering recommendations for enhanced efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager on mechanical and electrical equipment issues or production-related concerns.
  • Act as the first point of contact for on-site repairs and maintenance, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Oversee external contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project quality.
  • Assist with the planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop and across the site.
  • Provide maintenance support to other sites when necessary.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Fabrication experience, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welding.
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence (training available).
  • Experience supervising or managing contractors.
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and efficient.
