It is genuinely difficult to find a company that invests so heavily in its staff because they want them to benefit from "proper careers, where every member of staff has a mentor."The role is based within the renewals department dealing with a wide variety of Social Welfare, Care, Not For Profit and Charity policies - thus a chance to be involved with some extremely interesting insurance risks.

Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, underwriting renewal cases, collaborating with the Claims team, as well as developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Technical department and the wider business. You’ll provide excellent service to brokers, prioritising renewals and mid-term adjustments to ensure deadlines are met. Being a growing business that very much listens to, and implements employees’ great ideas and suggestions, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in some really interesting ad hoc projects and make a real difference. It is not essential that you have previous experience within Social Welfare / Care insurance as full training will be provided. However, you must have some underwriting experience encompassing Property (Commercial or Domestic) And / OR Liability. It may be that you are currently an Insurance Broker with some delegated underwriting authority experience, who is looking to transition into a fully-fledged underwriting role. It’s essential that you are well-organised and efficient, and as you’ll regularly be dealing with brokers over the telephone, you’ll be engaging and professional. "I really want to stress that this is NOT a 'dead-end’ underwriting role", says the Director. "We are extremely passionate about developing our staff, and this role has the genuine potential to progress into a number of different areas, such as Senior Underwriting, General Management, Technical, Compliance, Sales and more."
