About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Catering Manager/Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision school in the Leeds area. This dual-role position offers the opportunity to support the educational development of students while also overseeing the preparation, cooking, and service of meals. The role will be split between educational support and catering responsibilities, ensuring both the academic and nutritional needs of students are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Catering Management:
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and service of meals to students and staff.
- Ensure that food hygiene and safety standards are adhered to in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all catering areas.
- Order meals from external suppliers and ensure timely delivery and collection.
- Ensure the catering service meets the specific dietary requirements and preferences of the school and its students.
- Respond to health and safety issues promptly and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Educational Support:
- Provide support to students in their learning and development as a Teaching Assistant.
- Assist students with behavioural difficulties and provide effective interventions to help them thrive in the educational environment.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Support teachers in the delivery of educational content and help manage the classroom.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teaching Assistant Level 2 (or higher).
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or higher).
- Full driving license is essential for this role.
- Experience in managing catering operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and service.
- Ability to maintain high food hygiene standards and ensure the safety of all catering operations.
- Proven experience working with students who have behavioural difficulties and supporting their educational needs.
