Job Title: Associate Director of Town Planning

Location: Leeds

The Company:

We are seeking an Associate Director Town Planner to join a dynamic National Development & Infrastructure Planning team, working closely with a range of multi-disciplinary services and collaborating with experts in the field. This key role will involve managing a variety of planning projects, including residential, mixed-use developments, data centres, airports, retail, logistics, and major infrastructure initiatives. You'll also play a significant part in growing the business and mentoring junior planners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building new client relationships and maintaining existing ones
  • Directing and mentoring junior team members
  • Contributing to business plans and chairing planning meetings
  • Preparing fee proposals and assisting with tender submissions
  • Handling Local Plan consultations, Local Plan Examinations, and appeals
  • Overseeing projects of various sizes, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Qualified MRTPI or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Strong experience in large energy and infrastructure projects, including those requiring Environmental Impact Assessment and Developments of National Significance
  • Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute with a proven consultancy background
  • An established market reputation and track record of winning commercially viable projects
  • Solid financial and project management skills
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities to build lasting relationships
