I am currently seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join the Care and Public team of a highly regarded law firm based in Leeds. This is a busy and varied role where you will provide secretarial support to a team of busy Solicitors dealing with care and public cases.

This firm offer an excellent benefits package along with hybrid working. The successful applicant will be an experienced Legal Secretary who has worked within a care department or similar. You will also have a fast and accurate typing speed and professional manner.

You will provide a professional and efficient secretarial service to these Solicitors including:

Typing documents including court documents, emails and file notes, etc for the fee earner’s.

Preparing legal aid applications.

Opening files on the case management system.

Answering calls and assisting clients with enquiries.

Liaising with clients/professionals to arrange appointments/meetings, etc.

Dealing with incoming emails/post and corresponding as appropriate.

Digital dictation (BigHand).

Ensuring the case management database is continually kept updated.

Ensuring files are fully time recorded for billing.

Preparing court bundles.

Assisting other fee earners within the team.

Ensuring the experts’ register is updated.

Providing cover for other secretaries in their absence.

Assisting fee earners with billing and closing files, as well as invoices.
