Location: Leeds (hybrid working)

Salary: up to £32,000 DOE

They are looking for a talented Paralegal to join our Employment Law team at their Leeds office.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Employment Tribunal cases and supporting the team with non-contentious matters. Previous experience handling cases in employment law is essential.

The role:You will primarily work on claimant tribunal litigation, with potential exposure to respondent cases. The role offers a varied and engaging caseload, including high-stakes cases involving discrimination, whistle-blowing, and other complex issues, providing ample opportunity to expand your legal expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Manage a caseload of Employment Tribunal matters, including drafting legal documents, witness statements, negotiating settlements, and liaising with counsel as needed.
  • Meet service level agreements and deadlines.
  • Provide assistance to colleagues with their cases as required.
  • About the Team: Our Employment team is made up of solicitors, paralegals, and trainees, working across our Leeds and Bristol offices and remotely. We handle Employment Tribunal claims for both employees and employers, in addition to providing advisory services on workplace issues like disciplinary matters, grievances, restructures, and business transfers. Our team regularly advises on settlement agreements.

What We're Looking For:

  • A solid understanding of employment law with practical experience in a law firm setting.
  • Experience managing a caseload independently.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues, clients, and other legal professionals.
