- Make sure Stamp Duty Land Tax and Land Registry rules are followed.
- Keep up with training and stay updated on relevant laws and practices.
- Handle client questions and messages through post, phone, or email.
- Regularly check live matter reports, unpaid bills, and client balances, and report any issues to your Supervisor or Department Head.
- Follow the company’s Equality & Diversity Policy in all your work.
- Advise and update clients, keeping them informed about their cases and costs.
- Help out other team members as needed.
- Build strong relationships with clients and make sure they receive top-notch service.
- Manage client work assigned by your Supervisor according to department guidelines.
- Make sure all work follows SRA regulations.
- Take part in the company’s appraisal system.
- Open and close files, and prepare them for archiving.
- Stay on top of your workload and let the fee earner know if you can't meet a deadline.
- Draft and revise legal documents as needed.
- Keep the filing system organised and up to date.
- Prior experience within a property law team is essential - minimum 2 years
- A keen interest in commercial property law and a willingness to develop further in this field.
- Ideally, a law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Previous Office Administration experience desirable.
