Key Purpose of Role-Legal Assistant
To act as a support system to the Legal Department by administering legal information and further administrative duties for the Legal Department.
To be involved in a scope of duties to enable the department to respond effectively to the requirements of the company.
Key Duties / Responsibilities-Legal Assistant
- To provide administrative assistance to Head of Legal and the Plot Conveyancers.
- Opening new files and setting up on the system (case and visual files).
- Issuing draft documentation using pre-prepared precedents with the initial title pack.
- Draft and submit Land Registry application.
- Draft and Stamp Duty Land Tax forms to HMRC (where applicable
- Issuing and preparing engrossments.
- Drafting ad hoc documents as and when required.
- Forming the administrative link between Finance, Land, Construction and Sales.
- To provide administrative support to the Sales Department as required.
Experience
Experience within a housebuilding company in a similar role (desirable).
Previous conveyancing experience
Law degree (desirable)
Key knowledge and skills
Computer literate on IT systems.
Excellent communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Excellent numerical skills.
Methodical and highly organised.
Able to work well under pressure and effectively manage own workload.
