Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

We are currently working with a leading organisation seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is a hands-on role that will involve working closely with operations teams and contractors to ensure day-to-day maintenance tasks are completed safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the entire site, including the process plant, equipment, and general infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to continuously develop and improve maintenance systems, ensuring they comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.

Weekly 3 shift rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workshop, tools, and consumables.
  • Manage spares inventory and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure availability of essential spares, and secure storage of critical long-lead-time spares.
  • Perform and record all daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Provide guidance and training to operators for routine reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Review and develop maintenance plans, improving strategies as experience with the equipment grows.
  • Diagnose faults and repair breakdowns, ensuring the reliability of the plant.
  • Propose improvements to reduce downtime and increase plant efficiency.
  • Provide flexible cover for staff shortages and attend call-outs to address breakdowns.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required by the Site Manager.

Essential Skills:

  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to fault-find and repair low-voltage electrical equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance environment, with expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with bulk material conveying systems and process mixers.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team player, capable of educating others on the importance of plant maintenance.
  • Ability to improve systems and processes, and adjust routines as experience grows.
  • Willingness to work independently and use initiative.
  • Flexibility to handle out-of-hours contact.

Desirable Skills:

  • Vocational safety qualifications.
  • Mobile plant operating certificates, such as Counterbalance FLT or Front End Loader.
