About Our Client:

Our client is a leading manufacturing and production company based in West Yorkshire. They are known for their commitment to quality and innovation in the industry. With a strong focus on employee engagement and continuous improvement, they are seeking a highly motivated Shift Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for managing the production team on a rotating shift basis. Your key responsibilities will include:

Safety:

Ensure compliance with safety policies and proceduresConduct regular safety meetings with the teamSupport the development and improvement of safe working practisesInvestigate accidents and take appropriate actions

People:

Train and develop the team to enhance their skills and capabilitiesManage staffing and recruitment needsConduct performance reviews and address performance issuesPromote a culture of learning and continuous improvement

Quality:

Ensure adherence to quality systems and standardsConduct regular audits to maintain a high level of quality controlInvestigate quality issues and implement preventive measuresParticipate in ISO and ethical audits

Production:

Monitor production targets and drive efficiencyCollaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality productsReduce waste and improve equipment downtimeTrack and analyse performance data

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Experience managing a large team in a manufacturing environmentQualification or experience in team leadership or managementExcellent knowledge of safety proceduresProficiency in ERP systemsStrong communication skillsAbility to work strategically and reactively

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

IOSH 'Managing Safely' qualificationUnderstanding of continuous improvement methodologies
