As an Associate Engineer you will sit within our Customer Support function, where you will be responsible for creating software solutions to problems raised against our product suite. We will provide you with the support, training, coaching and development you need to further your career at EMIS.


You will receive support from Expert Developers, Engineering Managers, Customer Support Team Leaders, and Technical Directors, we will give you what you need to succeed.


Please note this is ahybridrole and will require you to be on-site 2 days per week in our Leeds office.


What youll do

It may sound cliché, but here at EMIS we really do operate in fast-paced and ever-changing environment, but we have fun along the way.


You will proactively learn the codebase, write basic code, fix defects, and assist the wider development team. We are looking for you to lead in the championing of the prioritisation of outstanding problem tickets to ensure service to our customers.


Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

  • Actively reduce outstanding problem ticket backlogs, relating to their chosen capability in their chosen product.
  • Lead in the development and delivery of code changes to provide resolution.
  • Continue to upskill yourself and improve your coding skills.
  • Help to resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches.
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams across the organisation.
  • Be an initiative-taking member of the team, collaborating effectively with your team to deliver against commitments.

You will demonstrate a basic knowledge of one or more programming languages, frameworks, and databases, this will includeC#.netandSQL.

  • Appetite to learn and apply architecture best practices and patterns.
  • Understanding of other programming languages and the software development lifecycle e.g. (AWS, React, Agile).
