- We are seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to design metal, plastic, and wooden enclosures for an electro-mechanical engineering business.
- Candidates must have a minimum of twelve months' experience using Solidworks and a recognized mechanical engineering qualification.
- The role involves designing components, conducting mechanical fittings, and assisting with the production of jigs and fixtures.
- Experience in industrial/product design and a flair for aesthetics are beneficial for this position.

As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a recognised mechanical engineering qualification and at least one years' post university work experience in enclosures (or similar) for a manufacturing business. It would be beneficial for the appointed Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to have experience in industrial/product design and have a flair for the aesthetic. Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineer / Sheet Metal / Plastic / Aluminium / Assembly / Mechanical Engineer / Solidworks / Electro-mechanical / Machined
* Design plastic injection moulded components
* Design fabricated interlocking aluminium & steel enclosures
* Carry out mechanical fittings and compatibility checks on electronic assemblies. Produce wiring diagrams and assembly instructions when required
* Assist the production team with the design of relevant jigs & fixtures, and manage their manufacture
* Ensure all products are designed with manufacture and assembly considerations
* Evaluate components from datasheet information and then approve through appropriate testing
* Build and test initial samples and qualify the design with the correct documentation
* Provide technical support to Production for day-to-day design, performance and quality issues which arise
Mechanical Design Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Mechanical Engineer / Sheet Metal / Plastic / Aluminium / Assembly / Mechanical Engineer / Solidworks / Electro-mechanical / Machined
* Of degree calibre within mechanical engineering or equivalent
* Familiar with Solidworks
* Knowledge of metal (castings, sheet metal, extrusions, etc)
* Experience in a manufacturing environment with design for manufacture and test
