My client is a leading design and manufacturer of high value bespoke machinery being exported all over the world. Due to an order book which is already double for the financial year, they are once again looking to grow their design team with the addition of a Mechanical Design Engineer. The company has been established for more then 50 years and in this time has delivered bespoke projects in to some of the most prestigious brands arund the world!
The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will:-
- Produce layout and detailed manufacturing drawings by creating mechanical engineering designs through CAD and prototyping, for components and assemblies.
- Prepare Bill of materials.
- Collaborate with the R&D, Control Systems and Production Teamsto evaluate performance of designs and identify and produce solutions.
- Liaise with production on manufacturing planning, components supply and supervision of assembly of equipment.
- Track project costs, coordinating manufacture of components at offsite subcontractors and assembly on site.
- Monitor activities and help overcome problems as they are encountered, by testing, analysing data and reporting progress towards meeting customer requirements
- Prepare machine manuals.
- Where required, liaise with external sources for advice on materials, components, new technologies, testing etc
- Where required, participate in commissioning trials
Ideally the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will have:-
- A relevant qualifications (Degree or equivalent)
- 5+ years experience in machinery or complex assembly and part design
- Preferably experience in designing process equipment or machinery
- Strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge
