Our client, a leading FMCG organisation, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:
Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance duties to minimise downtime and ensure efficient working timeTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, participating in problem-solving and continuous process improvementsCollaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth handover and efficient maintenance operationsAdhere to maintenance schedules and prioritise production stoppages over daily dutiesInstall new machinery and equipment when necessaryMaintain a clean and safe work environment, following health and safety guidelinesContribute to the overall improvement of production lines and operations
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Experienced fitter/engineer or City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical EngineeringExtensive experience in fault finding, repair, and maintenance of machinery and production systemsStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environmentDetailed knowledge of health and safety proceduresProficient in diagnosing faults and working with pneumatics and hydraulicsCompetency in MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Previous experience in the FMCG industryKnowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Technologies:
Experience with relevant mechanical engineering tools and equipment
