Refrigeration Design Engineer

With significant developments with new projects across the business, Pennine Refrigeration Services are recruitingfor a Refrigeration Design Engineerto support the ongoing expansion of the design team. As a Refrigeration Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing industrial refrigeration systems, working in conjunction with the Sales and Projects teams, and other design colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce refrigeration system design drawings that meet customer needs by understanding the requirements of refrigeration installations.
  • Compile a comprehensive Design Document with a thorough design philosophy and identify methods of monitoring and collecting data to prove the design (Select refrigeration system components, e.g., plant, evaporators, valves etc., as appropriate for the system specification and customer requirements)
  • Liaise with colleagues in the Sales team regarding system design for quotations (Be involved with customer site surveys when quoting for potential projects)
  • Liaise with colleagues in the Projects team regarding system design for sold customer projects.
  • Work with the Electrical Design and Mechanical Design teams regarding system design
  • Produce complete design documentation for working drawings suitable for inclusion in the Operation and Maintenance manuals (Provide technical support to colleagues as required)
  • Represent the company by attending meetings and participating in technical discussions with customers, contractors and suppliers as required.
  • Provide advice and guidance regarding specifications and technical issues (Assist with training and support for technical apprentices)

Requirements:

  • Preferably Engineering Design degree or HND/C or equivalent
  • Well motivated with at least three years minimum related experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD is desirable, but experience with CAD essential
  • Conversant with common software packages
  • A good knowledge of modern refrigeration systems including secondary cooling
  • Knowledge of purchasing and specifying
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels in an organisation
  • Full driving licence
