SERVICE ENGINEER

MONDAY - FRIDAY:

People Solutions are looking for a Service Engineer for our client based in Leeds.

Day to Day Duties

  • Installation and Commissioning: Install, configure, and commission equipment or systems at client sites, ensuring they are operational and meet customer specifications
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance, diagnose faults, and carry out necessary repairs
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify, analyse, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or failures using diagnostic tools and techniques, and provide effective solutions
  • Technical Support: Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, resolving issues related to equipment operation, software updates, or system integration
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct tests to verify that equipment is functioning correctly and make adjustments or calibrations as needed to meet performance standards
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed service reports, records of repairs, maintenance logs, and equipment status updates for internal use and client reference
  • Training and Guidance: Train clients or end-users on the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and provide ongoing support when needed
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients by addressing their concerns promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction, and offering technical expertise
  • Upgrades and Modifications: Recommend and implement system upgrades, modifications, or retrofits to improve equipment performance or extend its life cycle
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work complies with industry safety standards and regulations, following protocols to maintain a safe working environment for both the service team and clients
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, manufacturers, and suppliers to resolve complex technical issues or to coordinate larger projects

Essential Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of the equipment, systems, or technology the engineer services, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair techniques
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and diagnose technical issues, offering effective and efficient solutions in a time-sensitive environment
  • Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude: Proficiency in handling both mechanical and electrical components, understanding how various systems interact and function
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, explain technical issues, and provide clear solutions
  • Analytical Thinking: Capability to analyse system performance, conduct tests, and interpret diagnostic data to ensure optimal operation of equipment

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in Plant Machinery hire would be desirable
