As Engineering Facilities Lead, you will take charge of mobilising, testing, and commissioning new engineering facilities to support train maintenance and servicing during the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project. This role offers significant influence, autonomy, and a pathway to future career growth within the company.
This role is 24-month FTC, but should the successful applicants carry out their duties successfully, they will have the opportunity to apply for permanent positions.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the setup, maintenance, and management of all new TRU engineering facilities and associated plant equipment and supporting infrastructure project handovers and mobilisation.
- Establish best practice standards, implementing new processes, and writing new PPM schedules from the ground up based on ‘as built’ drawings, designs and O&M Manuals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including facilities management, production, safety, and external contractors, ensuring the facilities are compliant, and fit for purpose.
Candidate Essentials:
- Strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background, ideally within rail depots, facilities management, or heavy plant environments.
- Proven experience in asset management, PPM planning, and facilities/plant commissioning.
- Knowledge of Network Rail specifications and Depot Lease obligations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical, safety, and compliance documentation.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations, including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO55001.
Qualifications:
- IOSH/NEBOSH trained (or willing to qualify).
- IEMA Environmental Management trained (or willing to qualify).
- Personal Track Safety and Depot Safety trained.
- Competency Assessor (or willing to qualify).
- Legionella Responsible Person trained.
- Asbestos Awareness Manager trained.
- Fire Manager trained.
- COSHH regulations knowledge.
