I am currently recruiting a Maintenance Lead to manage engineering team for an FMCG manufacturing business based in Leeds. This role demands a hands-on approach, technical expertise and strong leadership skills to drive the team's performance.

Description

The Maintenance Lead will report directly to the Head of Engineering and will:

  • Lead, develop and mentor the engineering team
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of machinery and equipment
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the department
  • Accountable for delivery of PPM's
  • Manage labour resources (budgets, absences, shift planning etc)
  • Ensure site remains audit ready within Engineering department
  • Management of stores and stock control
  • Identify skill gaps and develop team

Profile

The successful Maintenance Lead will possess a range of the following:

  • Competence across Electrical and Maintenance Engineering with relevant qualifications
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing a team
  • Experience working within FMCG manufacturing facility
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Experience working to BRC audit standards
  • Assertiveness and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
