We are seeking a skilled Fitter/Multi Skilled Operative on behalf one of our well known clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to interpret schematics effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Health and Safety responsibility for the plant
  • Routine plant maintenance, fitting and housekeeping
  • Daily plant maintenance and PPM checks on the Coating plant
  • Planning maintenance and working closely with the plant manager to have spare parts on site
  • Keeping the 10-year maintenance plan updated and relevant
  • Working with contract fitters on bigger maintenance tasks
  • Complying with all Company Health, Safety & Environmental Systems and reporting procedures
  • Providing cover when needed on the coating plant/depot, loading shovel and weighbridge

Skills

  • Maintenance and fitting experience essential
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety safeguards (such as isolation/safe systems/risk assessments)
  • Knowledge/experience working in the construction industry (or similar)

The contract will be 48 hours per week, 2200 annualised hours. In terms of working hours it will need to be flexible, Monday to Friday in the main, however weekend work will also be required when maintenance tasks are required out of hours.
