LeviCare are seeking enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our team in the Leeds and surrounding areas. 

Main Responsibilities and Duties: 

As a Band 5 RMN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centered care in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) guidelines. Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Delivering patient care within the professional and ethical standards set by the NMC. 

  • Conducting holistic assessments of patients using evidence-based tools to determine their mental health needs. 

  • Developing comprehensive care plans that reflect patient needs, with interventions aimed at managing mental health risks and treatments. 

  • Implementing skilled nursing interventions based on the agreed care plan, while continuously evaluating and updating it to ensure optimal outcomes. 

  • Administering prescribed medical treatments in compliance with professional, legal, and local policies. 

  • Observing and reporting on the effects of medical treatments, ensuring prompt escalation of concerns. 

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to care plans, and participating in meetings to ensure coordinated care delivery. 

  • Empowering patients by promoting choice and self-advocacy within the constraints of legal and risk management frameworks. 

  • Supporting and facilitating patient advocacy, ensuring their voice is heard. 

  • Contributing to research and practice development initiatives to improve patient care. 

Team Collaboration: 

  • Promoting effective teamwork and communication within the department. 

  • Encouraging collaboration with external agencies to support seamless care for patients. 

  • Actively participating in multi-agency care discussions and fostering cooperative working relationships. 

Supervision and Staff Development 

  • Supervising and supporting junior staff in their roles, ensuring their ongoing development and competence. 

  • Assisting in identifying staff training needs and supporting their professional growth through formal and informal teaching opportunities. 

  • Contributing to the overall development and delivery of training programs within the Trust. 

Financial Responsibility 

  • Assisting with the efficient use and management of resources, including the strategic deployment of staff on shifts to ensure effective care delivery. 

Person Specification 

Qualifications 
Essential 

  • Registered Mental Health Nursing Certificate (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD). 

Desirable 

  • Accredited counseling course or equivalent. 

Knowledge and Skills 
Essential 

  • Strong skills in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. 

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision. 

Desirable 

  • Multilingual skills, with fluency in Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali, Hindi, or Gujarati.
