Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds, UK Working Hours: Full-time, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term Time Only)

About Us: Career Teachers Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Leeds. We provide a supportive and inclusive environment for children and young adults, aged 3 to 19, with autism. We're committed to delivering tailored education and fostering development through understanding and patience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of students with autism.

  • Work closely with the classroom teacher to support lesson plans and activities.

  • Provide one-on-one support to students when needed.

  • Help create and maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.

  • Implement personalized learning strategies and interventions.

  • Assist with daily routines, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with special needs, particularly autism.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
