Job Title: Payroll Advisor
Salary: £32,000
Location: Leeds 
Hybrid: 3 days office. 

JGA are partnered with an industry leading manufacturer, that are seeking a Payroll Adviser to lead their payroll function. 

You'll enjoy hybrid working and a great working environment. 

Key Requirements:


  • Deliver high-quality end-to-end payroll services accurately and on time, processing and reviewing all weekly and monthly payroll activities, including statutory payments and deductions.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on all aspects of payroll and PAYE, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies, and support the business with time and attendance system queries.
  • Administer pension schemes, including auto-enrolment compliance and regular reporting to providers, and manage employee benefits such as PMI, Life Assurance, and SAYE.
  • Assist with the annual pay review, bonus process, and production of P11ds, while completing specific pay period tasks as required by the Payroll Manager.
  • Monitor and update payroll process documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance, while continuously contributing to process improvements and system enhancements to improve payroll service delivery.
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

  • Relevant payroll qualification is essential, ideally CIPP qualified or with equivalent experience, demonstrating expertise in current UK payroll and pension legislation.
  • Strong evidence of continuous professional development in payroll and benefits, with significant payroll systems and operational experience at a professional level, preferably using Workday.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Excel, with a good awareness and an effective, logical approach to problem-solving and addressing payroll-related issues.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build constructive and collaborative working relationships, ensuring effective and respectful interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A team player prepared to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner, actively suggesting and contributing to process and system improvements, while working under pressure with attention to detail.
