Seven Resourcing is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) for a full-time locum position based in Leeds. Key Responsibilities:- Comprehensive Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patients within a substance misuse setting, using evidence-based practices to evaluate individual needs and treatment requirements.
- Medication Prescription & Clinical Management: Prescribe appropriate medications in accordance with national guidelines, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes while providing expert advice on medication management and patient care.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams, including addiction specialists, healthcare providers, and support staff, to ensure integrated care for patients, promoting recovery and well-being.
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring all prescribing activities and patient interactions are documented in line with clinical and legal standards.
- Review & Monitor Prescribing Practices: Regularly review and monitor prescribing practices to ensure they comply with the latest national guidelines, regulations, and best practices, adjusting care plans where necessary.
- Patient & Family Education: Provide education to patients and their families regarding prescribed medications, potential side effects, and the importance of medication adherence in the recovery process.
- Professional Registration: Must hold valid registration with the NMC as an RGN or RMN, or the GPhC as a Pharmacist, along with a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) qualification.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year’s post-qualification experience as an NMP within a Substance Misuse setting is essential, demonstrating a sound understanding of the complexities involved in addiction and medication management.
- Clearances: Up-to-date DBS check and references covering the last 5 years.
- Strong Clinical Judgment: Ability to make evidence-based decisions in a complex and often challenging clinical environment, ensuring the highest standard of care for patients.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals, building strong working relationships to support patient recovery.
