Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting on behalf of an established Manufacturer based in Leeds. Our client is seeking a highly diligent Compliance Manager with exceptional attention to detail. This pivotal role requires a conscientious individual who understands the significant impact of defective products on a company’s financial standing and reputation. The Compliance Manager will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our quality and compliance standards.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with both standards
  • Oversee the site’s Quality Management System, implementing improvements, conducting reviews, and ensuring updates are made
  • Lead the HARA team and manage the site HARA plan
  • Conduct third-party and customer site audits related to quality
  • Manage the internal audit process, scheduling, and completion
  • Handle nonconformances from audits, ensuring they are logged, actioned, and monitored for effectiveness
  • Establish and monitor quality and compliance objectives and KPIs
  • Prepare for quality meetings and senior management review meetings, including report presentations
  • Manage supplier approval and performance monitoring processes
  • Oversee the calibration schedule for equipment
  • Act as the contact for the pest control contractor
  • Write, review, and update site policies and management procedures
  • Manage document and record control
  • Present compliance updates during customer quality reviews and daily meetings
  • Lead the crisis management team, arranging mock withdrawals and traceability exercises
  • Assist with quality aspects and cover for the Quality & Technical Coordinator when absent

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven background in quality and regulatory compliance with essential field experience
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to articulate messages clearly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
  • Problem-solving and proactive thinking abilities
  • Flexibility and exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages, including Excel and Word
  • A willingness to learn and ambition to grow within the organisation
  • Experience working to deadlines and targets in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in building relationships and liaising with stakeholders
  • Data analysis and statistical skills
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
